1

Guess a first card

You try “Chandra, Torch of Defiance”. The color turns green: the answer is red. But it's older and costs less mana.

2

Read the clues, then narrow it down

You try “Shock”: a one-mana red common instant. Everything fits but the year — the card you want is older still.

3

Found it!

A one-mana red common instant from 1993: “Lightning Bolt”. Every clue turns green.

A real deduction game for Magic players

1jour1magic is a free guessing game where, every day, a new Magic: The Gathering card is waiting to be found from its artwork alone. You guess other cards, and the game reveals clues — colors, mana value, artist, rarity, set year — based on what they share with the mystery card.

This is not a quiz: every guess is a strategic choice. Cross-reference the clues, rule out colors, and find the card of the day in as few tries as possible — then share your score.

The pool is drawn from the most played cards, lands and mana rocks excluded: these are artworks you have already seen across a table.
